For the second time after the restaurant in Siena (Thalias), the Bokator athlete and famous actress Sam Taroth has kindly played the role of ambassador at Topaz Restaurant. The choice was Topaz Norodom, one of Cambodia’s most renowned establishments for the quality of its cuisine and the professionalism of its service. Remember that the actress was already convinced by her culinary experience at the Siena restaurant (Thalias).

Very impressed

Arriving at around 6 pm in the company of a friend, Son Sineth, who works in the fashion industry, Sam confided that it was the first time she was dining to this prestigious restaurant. Sam is known for her kindness and humility, but also for her outspokenness and tireless nature and she will find the matching words for her experience at Topaz. And she makes no secret of her admiration for the warm, bright surroundings of the main dining room and, of course, the magnificent garden with its pond, majestic tree and famous, imposing sculpture by Cambodian artist Vanndy Ou.

While waiting for service to begin, Sam starts snapping away on her smartphone She confides that she likes to immortalize good memories. And “this dinner at Topaz will certainly be an excellent memory,” she says. The two guests chose a rather varied selection, with fish as a starter, meat and duck. The intention is simple: “The menu is so attractive that you want to try everything,” says Sam.

As the dining room begins to fill, several customers notice the presence of the young celebrity and her model friend. A few furtive greetings and the first starters arrive after the mise en bouche. With meticulous precision, Sam photographs the dishes from every angle before the she goes to first bites, followed by a wide smile of satisfaction.

Discovering

Sam will do each and every dish justice, making no secret of her delight at tasting such tasty, sophisticated cuisine and discovering this iconic place:

“I’d heard a lot about Topaz. My friends told me it was a chic restaurant with excellent food. And I can tell you tonight that my experience was both convincing and fun. When I ordered the tuna, I was expecting a piece of fish. It was a mousse, delicious, with a unique flavor that gets into your mouth in a delicious way. I even find it hard to explain, but it was a great sensation. I even hesitated to start eating so as not to spoil the visual pleasure, “she says.

“Next was a mushroom soup, and I was a little worried about the blandness of this type of fungi. But when they poured the soup over it, it was divine, the mixture of crunchiness and soup reminded me of a dish my mother used to cook for me, it was delicious”

Sam’s favorite

“I then ordered a meat dish, beef, and I had asked for it to be cooked in a certain way, which they respected. What’s more, the sauce and the side dishes were perfect. Then I ordered a tart for dessert, a dish I love, which I discovered when I was shooting a film in the United States. The tart then become my favorite dish. American tarts are nice and quite good, with lots of different combinations, but the one at Topaz was much more elaborate, with this artistic mix of vanilla ice cream and topping, that was delicious.”

Our guest couldn’t resist trying the flambéed bananas. Some fruit she particularly likes and which she discovered in this very French preparation with that little ‘Topaz touch’. Will Sam return to Topaz Restaurant?

“The next time I’m negotiating a role for a film or else, I’ll suggest to the producers that we come to Topaz – the setting is perfect, the food sublime and the service impeccable,” she concludes.
